Day 20

Ok I know it's been a while since I've written but Mamma was out of town for the weekend and I cant type without her.

I've been busy getting healthy and growing hair! Check out my latest photos!

I've also learned that jumping on people is rude so I've almost stopped doing that. I really enjoy the security and coziness of my crate at night so sleeping in there isnt a problem. I'm getting along well with the other dogs now, and even Kiki but she still lets me know if I bump into her.

I've really been into chewing things, I guess that's the puppy in me so Mamma went to the store and bought me lots of fun chew toys. Daisy stole one from me that squeaks but she really likes it a lot and carries it around with her everywhere so I told her she could have it.

It's almost the weekend! I'm looking forward to spending some fun time with Mamma. Have a good Thursday!

Day Eleven

Finally! I'm learning how to count! Now it's all starting to make sense. I was confused in that the number of days I had been here, was actually the same as the day of the month! But anyway, enough of that. I'm feeling really good these days. I get so excited when Mamma comes home from work, I do this little jump up with all 4 feet in the air at once! I run now too.. with the other dogs. Scooby is so fast but Daisy is still the most fun to chase, until she rolls over and gives up! I think I might play a little too rough with her sometimes but I'm just bigger and don't really know how strong my paws can be. Mamma is trying to teach me some manners and tells me that the real training on basics is to begin this week. I'm looking forward to that.
I still stay in my crate at night and out during the day which seems to be working out well. I finish a full bowl of dog food twice a day and it's really good stuff so I know I'm glowing. My skin feels great and the scabs are almost gone. I just have a little discoloration on my skin where there were scabs but that will go away once my fur is back. Soon I'll be a beautiful girl again!

Day Ten

Today is 10/10/10. How cool is that?! Now that I am so brilliant and I know how to count I think it's cool! Today was SPA day for me. I didn't quite understand what was going on when Mamma packed up my crate into her car, then packed me into the crate! I was very scared and started howling but then she put some cool tunes on, Flemming and John I think (I'm really into good music) and I was much calmer. When we finally stopped we were at the Atlanta Humane Society but I didn't understand why. I was really scared and didn't want to come out of my crate so I just dug my feet in and made it as difficult as possible for Mamma to get me out. Well, she eventually got me out and carried me inside where she put me on a really cold scale. My new weight after one week is 31.6. I'm not sure where I was but I'll have to ask Katie when I see her again. Then I got my toe nails trimmed. That wasn't a big deal at all and it feels much better when I walk now. Then Mamma and her nice friend that works at the shelter both gave me a bubble bath. I didn't like the getting wet part but with Mamma and Garrett there, I knew I would be ok. The part where I was getting massaged with soapy bubbles and warm water was nice but I still wanted it to be done with. Once I was rinsed well, They both dried me off and boy did I feel like a million bucks! All that dry itchy skin now felt and smelled great! Ahh.. but then I was put in a dog run for a few hours until Mamma was done volunteering. I was so glad when she finally came back to get me and Garrett carried me out to her car. I didn't say a peep on the way home. Back at home the other 3 dogs seemed like they really had missed me. That made me feel really good. Its a nice feeling to be missed. We all went out in the backyard for our daily roll in the grass before coming in for a nap. Ahhh...

Day Nine

How ya like this photo of Scoobs, the Old Lady n me! We were all barking at some bird that dared to fly in our yard! Check out Scoobs' ears! How can he make them do that!? LOL

Today Mamma spent a lot of the day at something called the Fur Fest for the Atlanta Humane Society. I know the Atlanta Humane Society is a cool place because they are the ones that saved me so I didn't get too jealous when she said she had to be gone. I just hung out with the other 3, we chased bugs, butterflies and rolled in the grass. I'm not much of a digger but I'm still crazy about chewing on things. It's just so much fun to see what everything tastes like and how quickly I can dismantle it. I never had any opportunities like that where I used to live. You cant really chew on chicken wire. I found a nice new pair of shoes to chew on but I didn't like it too much so I just chewed that top part of the back of the shoe. Mamma wasn't too happy with me so I had to do some crate time for that but I mean really, they were out in my reach so what does she expect!? LOL

Day Eight

Ooohhh! You just cannot imagine how nice the sun and grass feel together! Can you see my smile?

Today Mamma was in a great mood! She had her phone and kept saying it was Friday. I wish I knew the days of the week already. Today I'm discovering that it is so much fun to chew on things! I think my puppy personality is coming back. I tried Mamma's sandals, then the table legs, then settled down with the dog beds for awhile so I had quite a snow storm by the time Mamma got home from work. My skin feels much better now and it's not flaking as much which is good. I know quite a bit of vocabulary now, "no", "crate", "stay", "down" (although I still like to jump up on people, "roll over". I think I'm pretty smart! I love learning new things.
I'm getting along really well with the other 3. The one senior lady doesn't really like it when I jump on her so I try to avoid her. And the little rabbit dog still is so much fun to chase. I got lots of playtime in today!

Day Seven

Today was a fun day too! I took Mamma's phone out into the yard first thing this morning and left it there! It was so funny to watch Mamma searching for it looking under the bed, in the cat food bag, in drawers, in the trashcan, in the wash machine, in the closet, in the hamper.. Then she even got her mom and the little person looking for it! But nobody could find it! I hid it good and it was just outside! So funny.
I got to spend all day outside in the grass again which was nice. The little dog, Daisy is so much fun to chase. She's quite afraid of me so usually I catch up to her and she rolls over on her back. Mamma doesnt like it too much when I chase her but I think it's lots of fun. I mean, she's little and white, so she might as well be a rabbit, right?
Mamma was not a very happy camper tonight. Apparently the little person had something called a "touch" and he put it in his jeans pocket and then Mamma washed the jeans without checking the pockets.. um.. not a good ending to that story. I think Mamma is going to bed early. She's had a ruff day! haha.. oh I shouldnt be laughing.

Day Six

Wow! Today my energy came back! And my chewing! I was running around and prancing like never before! Ahhh. Life is great! I'm finally starting to itch less although when I shake my fur, Mamma says it's snowing! I was trying to chew on anything I could find - I didnt realize how much fun that is! But Mamma didnt like that too much. I did a little counter surfing again but I think Mamma is on to me as she doesnt leave goodies up there anymore. Oh well!
I actually invited Scooby and Daisy (that's their names) to play today. That was fun. Oh and Mamma got to work from home today so I had her there ALL day! It was so much fun. We went outside a few times during the day and she'd just rub my belly! Ahh that felt so good. She's a good belly rubber.
The little person came home again tonight and I just really dont like him. I mean, I dont want to bite him, he just makes me nervous. I'd much rather be in my outside bed in the COLD than in the kitchen with him. Luckily Mamma didnt let me stay out there too long and locked me safely in my crate so he couldnt get near me. Hmm.. I wonder if I'll ever like him or not.
Other than that, all of my scabs have healed up! Wow! I'm amazed at how fast. And I think the colder weather is helping me to grow my fur back too. Mamma said I looked a little bit fuzzier today. I hope so cause it sure is cold and I need something to keep me warm! Well, it's off to bed. Mamma's locking me in the crate tonight so I dont get into mischief. Prob. a good thing. 'Nite!

Day Five

Day five here. The other dogs taught me to count so I finally know what day it is. They said I'd learn the days of the week next week.
Today I got to spend the entire day OUT of my crate! I had a BLAST! Whenever I had to poop, I just went in the garage! How cool is that?! Then I found a nice pair of foam slippers to chew on. That was fun but I soon got bored with that. I spent a lot of time outdoors - you know I figured out the doggie door all by myself! I loved having the freedom to go inside and outside as I pleased. Mamma came home and didn't seem pleased about all the poo in the garage, hmm.. but I was feeling much better. Mamma says that the red bumps all over my belly are starting to go away and I can definitely tell my feet are turning back to normal color from the purple they were. I even think my hair is getting fluffier too.

Mamma was here for a little bit then left and brought home a small person. He was so loud and running around the kitchen, he scared me. I ran around in circles in the kitchen and then just went outside and curled up in my bed out there. I didnt trust him. It was cold but I didnt know what to think of that loud person. Mamma called me back and and said to go in my crate. She closed the door and I felt much safer. She told the other little person to only say "good girl" which made me feel a lot safer. They were working on some papers for a good while and just listening to their calm low voices at the table lulled me into a nice nap. It's almost time for bed anyway and I had one busy day. Good night!

Day Four

Today was Monday whatever that means. I spent most of the day in the crate until Mamma came home. I was sure glad to get out and stretch my legs. I ran around but then I got so itchy. Mamma says I bray like a donkey. What's a donkey? I got to sleep in the kitchen with my crate open. That was cool.

Day Three

Mamma tells me it's Sunday. I have no idea what that means but I like the sun so it must be a great day! We spend the morning outside. It's cool and the sun feels great. I'm starting to really like Mamma. She gives me lots of attention and the other 3 are pretty nice too. I know they aren't after me now. The other dogs were getting too close to my crate so I snapped at them. Mamma didn't like that. Now I'm in the kitchen all by myself.

Later that afternoon I got some free-time in the backyard by myself. It was nice. I didn't cry for Mamma too much and stretched out in the sun. Mamma called me in, fed us dinner and started cooking something on the stove that smelled really good. Perogies I think but don't ask me how I know that. I thought everything was good but I was still a little bit hungry- that full bowl of dog food didn't fill me up apparently. I found some yummy uncooked biscuits on the counter and helped myself to 4 of them. Mamma did like that very much so back into the crate I went.

I learned a lot today but ready to call it a night.

Day Two

"It's still dark outside and I am woken up by the other three dogs barking with excitement. 'Mamma's coming, Mamma's coming!!' they shout. Who's Mamma!?
I can hear some creaking boards above me but have no idea what that means until I see the girl come around the corner of the kitchen. Oh that's Mamma I guess. Well, at least I know what to call her now! First thing she comes to my crate and lets me out. Outside it is cold and dark and I go to the grass and do my business. I get rewarded by Mamma! Cool. I like rewards from Mamma.

We all get a nice breakfast and I'm so hungry I gobble it all down. Mamma is busy running around the kitchen and before I know it, we go outside for another romp and then I'm back in the crate and she's out the door.

She returns when the sun is up and we spend some time in the backyard. The grass is so soft and feels great on my back and the sun feels nice on my skin. Mamma sits next to me and talks to me and pets me gently on areas that I still have fur. I guess she is ok. I rub up against her but she tells me to lay down and points to the ground. Ok, I like the grass so I drop down. She gets all excited. I think I do like Mamma so I stick close to her. She's usually just goes to get the fuzzy round thing she calls a Ball to throw for the other dogs. I try really hard to listen to her and to behave. It is much nicer here and I don't think I've ever seen such green grass. We go inside and I go to my crate. Mamma's made me a really nice bed in there which I love. It's so much better than chicken wire and dirt. I'm still so itchy and miss my friends so I decide to take a nap.

Mamma leaves for a little bit but since I'm already in my crate, she just gives me a soft rub on the head. She didn't close my crate door this time! Wow! The other 3 are here in the kitchen with me. I sleep mostly but feel comforted that they are around.

Mamma comes and I wake up. She feeds all of us dinner. I'm not very hungry. I'm still just so itchy and still really miss my friends. She gives me my medicine wrapped in a piece of turkey! Well, I can always eat a piece of turkey! The sun has set and I'm feeling a little bit better. Today was a good day.

Day One

Today I was picked up by this girl. She took me to her house and I met her other 3 dogs. They seemed curious about me but I still don't trust them. I'm very itchy and tired and I miss my friends. I howl myself to sleep after dinner.
